The first thing you want to know about this disease it that it is usually a STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease). Another thing you're going to need to know is that Chlamydia is sometimes called a "silent" disease. This is because three fourths of the time there are virtually no symptoms. Even if there are symptoms they are usually quite subtle and the disease goes a long time before diagnosis. Chlamydia is caused by a bacteria called Chlamydia Trachomatis. It is one of the most common STD's, right below Gonorrhea which is a STD that is actually quite similar to Chlamydia. But what causes people to get this disease?
